Since the July 1960 commission of the Basic Naval Aviation Officer School, later re-designated VT-10, the “Wildcats” aboard NAS Pensacola have trained virtually every Naval Flight Officer to wear the wings, as well as USAF Weapons System Officers, and International Flight Officers. July of 2010 marks the squadron’s 50th anniversary, which will be celebrated over 3 days in June. Fleet aircraft are welcomed to fly-in beginning June 21st. Official events begin on June 23rd and include a kickoff social at the NAS Pensacola O’Club, golf tournament, symposium at the Naval Aviation Museum, VT-10 alumni Dining Out as well as an NFO winging at the museum on June 25th. The Wildcat Reunion Group welcomes all current and former members of VT-10 to come celebrate this historic anniversary of NFO training.
